Founding member and general manager of Office Depot’s public e-commerce Internet business unit; established the unit’s direction, mission and strategies, oversaw daily operations of the business, and directed the technical development of the Web business.

• Set line-of-business’s strategies, managed projects and programs for implementation of key strategies, and managed financial planning and budget management for business unit;
• Negotiated more than $25MM worth of marketing, advertising and promotional partnerships with key Internet companies including: America Online, Excite, iVillage, Telepost, Stamps.com, InternetPerks, CCH, NetMarque, The Well, and others;
• Directed programs for marketing and promoting the e-commerce division, including: public relations, advertising, advertising sales, marketing communications, database marketing, merchandising, corporate communications;
• Generated first year of business revenue base in excess of $20MM in online revenues, with a run-rate of more than $50MM annualized at close of that year, with business unit profitability reached in eighth month of business.


1996 – 1997

Established and managed the business development, advertising and advertising sales functions within the company.

• Led business development of strategic marketing alliances, technology partnerships, and advertising prospects. Partnership agreements included Netscape, Excite, Yahoo, US West, USAToday Online, Sharper Image and others.
• Developed and managed Preview Travel’s online advertising programs and advertising sales team.


1995 – 1996
Vice President, New Media Development
America Online Inc., San Francisco, CA


Founded and directed the Consulting Service Group, a new media consulting business specializing in consulting to Fortune 500 companies.

• Directed the development of new programs and content for the Internet services at Global Network Navigator (GNN), an AOL subsidiary.
• Managed advertising sales programs to key advertising agencies for GNN.


1992 – 1996

(acquired by AOL in 1996)

Directed the sales and business development of new media products and services to Fortune 500 clients.

• Led the start-up and sales of Interactive Information Networks, an interactive public relations television network, to high-technology companies.
